Members of a delegation from the Beijing-based Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China discussed the possibility of establishing a Bachelor of Arts program in Chinese language and culture at the University of Debrecen on Thursday with the leadership of our institution and that of the Faculty of Humanities.

Representatives of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management of the University of Debrecen and the Faculty of Medicinal and Industrial Plants of Kirkuk University in Iraq signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Thursday in order to develop and implement an exchange program for students and researchers, initiate professional cooperation and promote joint research projects.

The Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen and Odessa National University of Technology (ONTU) are involved in planning to cooperate in the field of offering online courses, designing joint research projects and promoting joint publications. Four staff members of one of the largest universities in Ukraine have recently visited the University of Debrecen, where they got acquainted with the activities carried out at the Faculty of Informatics and the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management, while discussing plans for further joint professional collaboration opportunities.

The Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Debrecen has hosted the first meeting of CubeSat developers. At the event, students from four institutions of higher education had the opportunity to learn about each other's ideas and the funding opportunities provided by the European Space Agency to help even more universities to launch their own satellites into space for scientific purposes in the future.

On Saturday, 14 June, during the Festive Book Week, the volume Xántus and Borneo: A 19th century Hungarian naturalist on the island of Borneo, based on the joint research of the University of Debrecen and the Sunway University of Malaysia, will be presented. Published by Sunway University Press, the publication presents the accounts of János Xántus's 1870 voyage to Borneo in Hungarian and, for the first time, in English translation.
