The Károly Ihrig Doctoral School of Management and Business of the University of Debrecen has held an international conference of PhD students, sponsored by the university’s Faculty of Economics and Hungary’s Central Bank. Hungarian and foreign students delivered presentations in ten sessions. Gergely Baksay, Managing Director responsible for economic and budget analysis of the Central Bank gave a plenary presentation. The programme included a round table discussion too.

The team of the Tóth Árpád High School from Debrecen has won the DEbate English-language national debate competition, which was organized again this year by the University of Debrecen's Institute of English and American Studies in cooperation with the Embassy of the United States of America and the American Corner.

Is ChatGPT a curse or a blessing? To what extent can artificial intelligence develop further? What are the areas where AI (artificial intelligence) may play a decisive part in the near future? These are but a few of the questions that the master instructors of Institute of Engineering and Business Development Innovation (MÜZLI - Mérnöki és Üzletfejlesztési Innovációs Intézet) of the University of Debrecen sought answers to on Wednesday.

It was for the second time already that the Faculty of Education for Children and Special Educational Needs of the University of Debrecen organized an international conference titled Challenge and/or Opportunity: The Integration of Roma People in Europe in order to analyze the social situation of Gypsy communities. The scholarly-scientific meeting featured presentations in as many as ten different sections.

The University of Debrecen has recently organized the scholarly-scientific conference of its colleges for advanced studies for the fourth time. At the event held in Debrecen Academic Committee Headquarters on Tuesday, students from seven disciplines gave account of their latest findings in as many as five different sections. The speakers delivering English and Hungarian presentations represented the colleges for advanced studies active in our institution and at Partium Christian University.

The development of doctoral education and the strengthening of the alumni community were in the focus of the conference of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Debrecen (GTK) and the Károly Ihrig Doctoral School held at UD on Tuesday. The results of the project that had just finished and had been designed to support talented young researchers were also presented at the event.

The entries that had made it to the final of the students’ competition on the subject of the psychological aspects of human-robot interactions were exhibited and awarded at the Department of Psychology of the University of Debrecen on Thursday. The programme was also a contribution of the Faculty of Humanities to the university’s Neurotech project.

The aim is to increase the role of industrial companies in education, András Hajdu, dean, emphasized at the opening of the 21st IT Professional Days on Monday. Two thousand students currently study at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen.

In 6 sections, 80 students from 7 institutions of 7 countries participated in the InterTalent UNIDEB talent development conference, which was organised by the University of Debrecen for young researchers for the 3rd time.

In the framework of the International Particle Physics Student Workshop 60 students learned about the research programmes of CERN and the basics of particle physics at the Institute of Physics of the University of Debrecen.

The team of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen performed excellently at the competition called Shell Eco-marathon Europe and, by moving a couple of places forward in comparison to its position last year, finished 29th in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
