Hírek Erasmus, mobility program címkével

During the first year of Pannonia Scholarship Program, the University of Debrecen registered the highest number of mobility participants nationwide, with a total of 950 students and staff members receiving scholarships to support their study trips abroad. This new scholarship program continues to offer a broad range of opportunities for members of the academic community at the University of Debrecen in the 2025/2026 academic year and, thanks to increased institutional support, the number of future participants is expected to grow further.

A group of students from the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen have recently took a trip to the capital city of the Czech Republic as part of Pannónia Ösztöndíjprogram [Pannonia Scholarship Programme]. Their three-day short-term group study trip, available for both teachers and students, also consisted of a visit to Czech Technical University (CTU) and the special building of the Czech National Library of Technology (NLT).

Students of the University of Debrecen can also travel now to Southern Utah University in the USA within the framework of what is called Pannónia Ösztöndíjprogram [Pannonia Scholarship Programme]. The agreement on student mobility opportunities was reached as part of the expansion of the partnership between UD and the US university signed a year ago, and students of the Faculty of Humanities can apply first to participate in it.

The students of Faculty of Business and Economics, majoring in Tourism and Catering Management, were the first “swallows” from the University of Debrecen to take part in a short-term group study trip of the Pannonia Scholarship Program (Pannónia Ösztöndíjprogram) in the framework of their course on international tourism relations. During their three-day trip, these students visited Vienna’s City Hall, Europa Experience (the European Parliament's education and experience center in Vienna), and the interactive museum called House of Music.

The latest group of international students arriving for the spring semester at the University of Debrecen have been recently treated to a Welcome Dinner, consisting of a traditional Hungarian meal and a folk dance party. This year, the largest number of the students have come from France and Turkey. In addition to Hungarian gastronomy and folklore, these students participating in the international mobility programs also got to know their peer-partners, who will facilitate their integration into our university. Study abroad, internships and research practices, intensive courses, language courses, summer schools and scholarships, i.e. everything related to studying abroad and student mobility was offered at one location, at the University of Debrecen's Foreign Affairs Exchange. This year, it is for the 26th time that International Office and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Student Self-Government organized their annual information day, where 15 exhibitors were looking forward to answering questions from interested visitors in the inner courtyard of the Main Building.

Students from twenty-three countries, including Tanzania, have arrived at the University of Debrecen for the autumn semester. The International Office of the institution and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Student Government welcomed them on Wednesday at the traditional Welcome Dinner. At the welcome dinner, the foreign students were given a taste of Hungarian gastronomy and were also introduced to local dances.

Austrian and Polish students and lecturers studied the work of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education and Special Needs Education (GYGYK) at the University of Debrecen within the Erasmus+ BIP programme. During the one-week seminar, they learned about the theoretical and practical background of Hungarian curative, kindergarten and social pedagogy at the Faculty of Education and Social Pedagogy in Hajdúböszörmény and its partner institutions.

The partnership between the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Debrecen and the Almaty al-Farabi Kazak National University has reached yet another successful stage. For six months, a researcher from one of Kazakhstan's leading higher education institutions prepared DNA extraction and quality control of tissue samples of rare plants collected in Kazakhstan and brought back to the DE laboratory.

In keeping with tradition, on Thursday, the International Office of the University of Debrecen and the Student Committee for Foreign Affairs of the institution welcomed 130 students from 21 countries who had arrived in the framework of the Erasmus scholarship program with a Welcome Dinner in the Main Building's Lobby.
