The partnership between the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Debrecen and the Almaty al-Farabi Kazak National University has reached yet another successful stage. For six months, a researcher from one of Kazakhstan's leading higher education institutions prepared DNA extraction and quality control of tissue samples of rare plants collected in Kazakhstan and brought back to the DE laboratory.

Greta Grof-Tisza is studying at the University of Debrecen, founded with the support of her great-great grandfather. Although the young student was ware that she was a descendant of the former Prime Minister, Count István Tisza, she only experienced the significance of his legacy once she arrive don the premsises of the university. The late Prime Minister's descendant was received by Rector Zoltán Szilvássy and Chancellor Zoltán Bács in the Main Building.

The University of Debrecen has made a cooperation agreement with six Vietnamese universities in the fields of information technology, pharmacy, and medicine. The framework agreements were signed by Zoltán Szilvássy, Rector of Debrecen University, in the presence of Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Minister of Defence, on Friday, at the National University of Public Service.

The Ophthalmology Clinic of the University of Debrecen was the first in Hungary to introduce a procedure that can treat vascular melanoma while preserving the eyeball. First, the tumour is destroyed by imaging-guided, precision external beam radiation, and then the tumour tissue is removed from the inside of the eyeball by the retinal surgeon. The treatment requires close collaboration between the Oncology Clinic, the Medical Imaging Clinic and the Ophthalmology Clinic.

Mechanical Engineering students at Debrecen University’s Faculty of Engineering have completed their studies in Oradea, Romania, as the first students of the University’s outsourced education in Hungarian at Partium Christian University. The joint aim of the two institutions is to obtain Romanian accreditation for this type of education as soon as possible.

The corporation’s professionals will play an active role in the courses of the faculty and offer career opportunities for graduates. The heads of the faculty and the corporation signed a memorandum of understanding.
