Doctors and specialists from Slovakia recently visited the Burns Department of the Dermatology Clinic of the University of Debrecen Clinical Centre. The Hungarian and Slovakian specialists presented the latest technologies and surgical techniques they use and shared their experience and expertise in daily patient care.

The Institute of English and American Studies, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Debrecen celebrated the 40th anniversary of the introduction of Canadian Studies and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Canadian-Hungarian diplomatic relations with an international conference. The event, which took place on 24-25 October, was graced by the presence of the Canadian Ambassador to Hungary and the Consul General of Hungary in Montreal. Following the opening ceremony, the world-famous author Margaret Atwood welcomed the participants with a video message.
The necessity of biodiversity monitoring, modern data collection methods, the socio-economic use of information obtained through monitoring, the launch of the environmental monitoring system of the University of Debrecen and the current phases of the work were also discussed at the 1st Biodiversity Conference.
This year, the University of Debrecen (DE) will host the XXIV National Conference on Educational Science between 24-26 October. The international conference on Education and Care in the Service of Social Well-being - Challenges of Education and Care in an Age of Crises was jointly organized by the Faculty of Childhood Education and Special Education (CEE) and the Faculty of Humanities.
The Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen (DE) organized this year's traditional conference in Gyomaendrőd on the theme of Song, Music, Folklore, Mythology in Chinese Culture and Language Teaching. The University of Debrecen is the only Hungarian institution of higher education that has become a member of a partner university network of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), called University Network for Research Collaboration. Following a line of previous successful events of this kind, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the Faculty of Agriculture, Food Science and Environmental Management have jointly hosted an Orientation Day for first-year international undergraduate, master's and PhD students. The Oncoradiological Clinic of the University of Debrecen has been awarded the title Elekta Qualified Regional Training Centre. This means that, from next year, the clinic will offer theoretical and practical training programs for oncoradiology specialists from Central and Eastern Europe. The relevant cooperation agreement was signed by the representatives of our institution and those of the company Elekta on Wednesday at the University of Debrecen.
The University of Debrecen and CATL's Hungarian subsidiary have signed a strategic partnership agreement. This cooperation covers several fields and disciplines, including IT, engineering, natural sciences, research and development, education, as well as science and industry. Certificates for their top-quality efforts in the field of studying Chinese language and culture have been awarded to the students of the University of Debrecen (UD) and Debrecen’s Vocational Training Centre (Debreceni Szakképzési Centrum - DSZC) by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Hungary. His Excellency Gong Tao gave a reception to the honored students and their teachers at his residence in Budapest on Saturday.
Three faculties, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Informatics and the Faculty of Humanities, of the University of Debrecen were represented at a conference called CogInfoCom (Cognitive infocommunications) at Chuo University, Japan, which was attended by academics from universities located on several continents. This event primarily focused on the potential of merging human and digital environments, artificial intelligence, info-communication and cognitive skills.
The research and development collaboration continues between the University of Debrecen and GE HealthCare, one of the world’s leading medtech companies, to support radiation therapy treatments. As part of this cooperation, the Oncoradiology Clinic participates in the software validation program of GE HealthCare. The agreement regarding the cooperation on the complex radiation treatment system application was finalized on Wednesday.
A delegation from the University of Debrecen (UD) was also invited to Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU) in China to join the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the host institution. During the official visit, the leaders of the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding on launching a Chinese major program in Debrecen, while a Confucius Institutes Partnership Association, established this time by TFSU, was also joined by UD.
