The show celebrating the start of the academic year at UD, which was held at the Nagyerdei Stadium on Wednesday, was a huge success. The yoUDay brought a world-class show, an outstanding community experience, and a record number of spectators.
The Coordinating Center for International Education will hold information days for the foreign partners of UD. Participants will hear about academic programmes and life at the university, and will also be invited to the yoUDay.
Foreign students who arrived for the autumn semester were greeted with traditional Hungarian food and drinks, as well as with a folk dance show at UD on Friday.
Over 9,000 freshmen have started the school year at University of Debrecen. The opening senate meeting of the institution took place at Főnix Arena on Sunday. At the event first-year students took an oath, and awards were delivered.
The modern, multifunctional learning center of UD, a 3 billion HUF development, will be completed at the end of 2019. Preparation works started in early September.

The freshers of the University of Debrecen have been the first to see the clip of the song shot for the unique semester opening stadium show called yoUDay. The joint video clip featuring the band Animal Cannibals and singer Andi Tóth is now accessible on the university’s youtube channel.
Tickets are already available for yoUDay, the unique and exclusive commencement and opening ceremony of the academic year at the University of Debrecen. . A crowd of as many as 25 thousand spectators would be expected to attend the event opening the 2018 fall semester on September 26, 2018.
A rich and versatile program of activities, the likes of which have never been seen before, was offered by the University of Debrecen at Campus Festival. There were also concerts, interesting talk shows, and stand-up comedians performing at the festival site called University Square.
More than ever before, about 1000 university students from Hungary and abroad entered into Campus Sports Festival. Students of 26 Hungarian and 17 foreign universities take part in the sports events organised at the University of Debrecen.
Right now, the University of Debrecen is in a state of busy preparation for the Campus Fesztivál, complete with a new location and a crowd of first-timers. This year, there will be a variety of new stands installed for the attention of those with a thirst also for academic knowledge at Egyetem Tér.
Students from Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management have won the contest called Health Venture Competition of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. The gold medal they have received has been awarded for their millets (cereal) based line of products.
