The University of Debrecen continues to remain among the top 1000 institutions of higher education in the most recently published Times Higher Education (THE) ranking. The global ranking published on Thursday as THE World University Rankings 2026 covered nearly 2200 institutions of higher education from as many as 115 countries selected from a total of 28000 universities in the world.

The University of Debrecen has been ranked 563rd as the best Hungarian higher education institution in the latest ranking of the UK ranking agency Quacquarelli Symonds.

The University of Debrecen has recently made its debut among the top 400 universities in the field of pharmacy and pharmacology according to the latest QS thematic list. The British ranking company Quacquarelli Symonds has ranked UD in four new fields of science. Besides pharmacy and pharmacology, our institution has also been ranked in chemistry, mathematics, computer science and information technology.

The University of Debrecen has improved its position in the QS sustainability ranking. UD has moved up from 372nd to the 313th place among the institutions examined by the renowned UK ranking agency Quacquarelli Symonds, thus becoming the best Hungarian university in this respect.

The University of Debrecen has been ranked as the best educational institution in Hungary in science and medicine in the most recently published thematic ranking of the Round University Ranking. Our institution has improved its position in all the disciplines covered in the independent ranking provider's latest thematic ranking.

Universities have been rated against the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the latest international thematic ranking by Times Higher Education. In the University Impact Ranking, the University of Debrecen was ranked among the top 400 institutions.

The University of Debrecen has moved up almost 100 places in what is called QS international ranking. UD was ranked 574th among the more than fifty-five hundred institutions surveyed by the renowned UK ranking agency Quacquarelli Symonds.

The University of Debrecen has been ranked as the best Hungarian higher education institution in both the natural and social sciences in the Times Higher Education 2024 thematic rankings. The institution has also improved its position in the field of informatics in the list recently published by the renowned British rankings.

The University of Debrecen is among the top 800 institutions of higher education in the latest rankings of Times Higher Education. More than 1,900 higher education institutions from 28,000 universities around the world were ranked in THE World University Rankings 2024, published on Wednesday. The ranking is based on their teaching and research activities, international reputation, industrial income and patents.

The University of Debrecen has improved its results in the QS international ranking. UD is ranked 671-680 among the institutions examined by the renowned British ranking analyst Quacquarelli Symonds. With this result, the University of Debrecen is in the top 2.5 percent of more than 28,000 universities in the world.
