This year, in the Hungarian round of the international competition of the leading nuclear energy corporation, Rosatom, the students’ task was to develop a digital patient management system in 24 hours. The University of Debrecen hosted the Global Hackatom Hungary in Nuclear Medicine event, where one of the teams from the host institution finished on top and will thus represent our country in the international finals in the autumn.

Employees of the BMW company in Debrecen have joined the training program for students of automotive engineering at DE MK, the Faculty of Technology of the University of Debrecen. At the training center of the Bavarian automobile manufacturer's new Debrecen plant, the students could acquire the most recent technological knowledge in the subject called Vehicle Manufacturing II.

Doctoral students who have been awarded GTIDEA Kiválósági PhD Ösztöndíj [GTIDEA Excellence Ph.D. Scholarship] could get acquainted with world-renowned oncology researcher Rene Bernards and his experiences of a career in research. During the course of Professor Bernards' visit to Országos Onkológiai Intézet [National Institute of Oncology], which occurred in the framework of a program coordinated by the international organization EURACAN, the young scientists were also informed about the latest developments and research trends in oncology.

Cherishing a fifty-year-old tradition, the graduating students of the Faculty of Agriculture, Food Science and Environmental Management and the Faculty of Economics and Business bade goodbye to the University of Debrecen with a joint dance performance and a horse show. During this year's Sárgulás (Yellowing: meaning the graduation of students of agriculture in Debrecen), which is the 50th in a row, the students made even the faculty and university leaders participate in a dance.

A panel discussion for students of the University of Debrecen on career opportunities in the institutions, bodies and agencies of the European Union was held in the Main Building on Thursday. Based on their own experiences, young staff members from Ministry of European Union Affairs reported on the numerous job openings for Hungarian students and recent graduates in the EU.

On Tuesday evening, Barnabás Kovács, former Consul General of Barcelona, brought to the oDEon a documentary directed by Gábor Koltay, showcasing the career and the drama of the life of this iconic figure of Hungarian football in the grip of 20th-century history.

Pablo Alberola Talamantes, director of methodology of Villarreal CF, gave a lecture on Tuesday at the University of Debrecen. The Spanish expert described the new approach to the DVSC youth team since cooperation was made between Loki and Villareal. The focus is now on the players and the coaches' job is to help the players achieve their personal goals.

A group of students from the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen have recently took a trip to the capital city of the Czech Republic as part of Pannónia Ösztöndíjprogram [Pannonia Scholarship Programme]. Their three-day short-term group study trip, available for both teachers and students, also consisted of a visit to Czech Technical University (CTU) and the special building of the Czech National Library of Technology (NLT).

Together with its partners, Innovációs Ökoszisztéma Központ [Innovation Ecosystem Centre], of the University of Debrecen is to issue a call for participants in two student idea competitions during the month of May. The central topics of these competitions will be Campus Fesztivál and the innovative use of artificial intelligence.

On the occasion of the Day of Hungarian Poetry, foreign and Hungarian students wrote a few lines of their favourite poems on the glass walls of the two libraries of the University of Debrecen. It was the first time that students shared their literary thoughts on the glass walls of the Böszörményi Street Campus Library in addition to the Life and Natural Sciences Library.

In the framework of a full-day program, any interested party could learn about Poland, Polish history, culture, folklore and gastronomy, as well as study, scholarship and job opportunities in Poland on Lengyel Nap [Polish Day], hosted by the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen (UD) in cooperation with Budapest-based Instytut Polski [Polish Institute] and the Polish Tourism Organization office in our capital. The event, which was held on April 2 was connected to the Day of Polish-Hungarian Friendship (March 23).
