The leading mathematicians of the theory of functional equations and inequalities held a conference at the 59th International Symposium on Functional Equations organized by the Department of Analysis of the Mathematics Institute of the University of Debrecen. Professionals from all over the world came to the professional event in Hajdúszoboszló.

The specialists of the University of Debrecen were seeking solutions to the animal health and feeding difficulties of the sheep industry in the more than three-year long international project that has just come to an end, attended by ten universities and research institutes from eight countries. The results of the EuroSheep program with Hungarian relevance were presented on Thursday.

The University of Debrecen has improved its results in the QS international ranking. UD is ranked 671-680 among the institutions examined by the renowned British ranking analyst Quacquarelli Symonds. With this result, the University of Debrecen is in the top 2.5 percent of more than 28,000 universities in the world.

Zoltán Mészár, lecturer of the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology of the Faculty of Medicine won first prize as a member of an international team in the NeurotechEU Hackathon competition in Stockholm. Their task was to find innovative solutions to a problem of young people suffering from mental illnesses.

There will be representatives of universities from as many as 17 European nations, competing in 40 teams and totaling almost 400 participants present at the European Universities 3x3 Basketball Championship starting in about three weeks at the University of Debrecen. The defending champions are also coming, so the quality and the unique atmosphere will be guaranteed in and around the courts to be set up in front of the Main Building.

The Faculty of Humanities (FoH) of the University of Debrecen (UD) said goodbye to its Chinese students graduating in Hungarian studies on Thursday at the end-of-the-academic-year ceremony held in the Main Building. The 15 Chinese graduates started their studies in Debrecen three years ago, thanks to an international educational cooperation.

A delegation from Fujian Province on the southeastern coast of China came to our city recently to learn about the history of our institution, its program offers and research activities that harmonize with the requirements of industrial enterprises and the admission opportunities for students from abroad to the University of Debrecen. The University and National Library of the University of Debrecen (DEENK) also supports the reform of research evaluation in the transformation of open science, i.e. the system and value system of research. To this end, it was said at the seventh Open Science Forum that DEENK supports the dialogue within the institution and plays a change management role.

The summer graduation ceremonies at the University of Debrecen will begin soon. More than four thousand graduates will receive their degrees at the ceremonies held between June 17 and July 8.

The European Youth Event offers thousands of young people from all over the world the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the EU organization and meet decision-makers.

The fifth Rectors meeting of the European university consortium NeurotechEU, established to enhance cooperation in the field of neuroscience in a broader sense, was held in the Swedish capital. At the NeurotechEU Hackathon competition, introduced as a supplementary event, an international team, which included a researcher from the University of Debrecen, won first prize with their proposed solution to treat mental illnesses in young people.
