The University of Debrecen students and researchers have provided the highest number of Fulbright scholars in Hungary - this announcement was made at the information session of the International Office of the University of Debrecen, presenting this year's applications of the world's most prestigious scholarship programme. Every year, Fulbright offers 25 Hungarian students, researchers and teachers the opportunity to work as academic researchers and gain professional experience in the United States of America.

This weekend the summer series of graduation ceremonies will begin at the University of Debrecen. In the weeks to come, about 4,000 graduates will receive their degrees. The first ceremonies will be held on 17 June, Friday, at 10 am and at 13 am, when students of the Faculty of Economics and Business will graduate at the Cour d’Honneur of the Main Building.
The Ministry of Innovation and Technology and the Association of Hungarian PhD and DLA Candidates agreed on upgrading the support system of young researchers at the University of Debrecen. At the event the infrastructural development projects completed in the last 5 years to the value of HUF 8 billion were presented, and deputy state secretary Balázs Hankó talked about further opportunities.
As of 22 September 2021, all employees and students of the University of Debrecen are required to wear a mask that covers their mouths and noses in working hours and in school hours in all rooms used for working and teaching purposes, as well as in public areas and restrooms.

The Tribunal of Debrecen has registered the Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen, which will be responsible for maintaining and operating the University of Debrecen. With this major step, the model change in tertiary education has reached another milestone at UD.
The first meeting of the Advisory Board of the Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen was held on 8 July 2021. The event was also attended by the members of the Supervisory Committee, the asset controller, the auditor and the secretary of the Advisory Board.

After a long time, the University of Debrecen was finally able to hold a doctoral inauguration. The leadership of the university conferred Ph D and diplomas in the morning of the 5 June event and habilitation diplomas, as well as Professor Emeritus titles and awards in the afternoon.

The University of Debrecen has launched a mental support service for its foreign students, based at the School of Public Health of the Faculty of Public Health. The faculty works together with the Mental Health Centre, which will be responsible for the coordination of the services provided.
The results of a university survey initiated by the Faculty of Economics and Business, which focused on the e-learning system introduced in the 2nd semester of the academic year 2019/20 due to the Covid pandemic, have revealed that students at UD are satisfied with the system.
The UD is going to hold its end-of-academic-year closing ceremony in Nagyerdei Stadion. On Saturday, July 4, students of 5 faculties, while on Saturday, July 11, students of as many as 9 faculties, 2500 graduates altogether, will be receiving their diplomas at the ceremonies that will start at 5 pm.
“Egészségügyi Innovációs Szemle” (Innovation in Healthcare) – this is the title of a new magazine launched jointly by the faculty of Public Health and the Faculty of Pharmacy of UD. The quarterly journal will focus on the newest achievements in the fields of medicine and health science.
The Faculty of Public Health of the UD has joined the European Public Health Association (EUPHA). The objective of this international organisation is to improve the health status of European citizens and reduce inequalities in this field through the cooperation of member organisations.
The June 14 graduation ceremony of the Faculty of General Medicine opens the series of summer graduation ceremonies ending on July 6th, where close to 3500 graduates receive their degrees proving completion of training.
