The University of Debrecen students and researchers have provided the highest number of Fulbright scholars in Hungary - this announcement was made at the information session of the International Office of the University of Debrecen, presenting this year's applications of the world's most prestigious scholarship programme. Every year, Fulbright offers 25 Hungarian students, researchers and teachers the opportunity to work as academic researchers and gain professional experience in the United States of America.

The Károly Ihrig Doctoral School of Management and Business of the University of Debrecen has held an international conference of PhD students, sponsored by the university’s Faculty of Economics and Hungary’s Central Bank. Hungarian and foreign students delivered presentations in ten sessions. Gergely Baksay, Managing Director responsible for economic and budget analysis of the Central Bank gave a plenary presentation. The programme included a round table discussion too.

Greta Grof-Tisza is studying at the University of Debrecen, founded with the support of her great-great grandfather. Although the young student was ware that she was a descendant of the former Prime Minister, Count István Tisza, she only experienced the significance of his legacy once she arrive don the premsises of the university. The late Prime Minister's descendant was received by Rector Zoltán Szilvássy and Chancellor Zoltán Bács in the Main Building.

The leaders of the University of Debrecen and representatives of three faculties discussed the strengthening of existing cooperation and the establishment of further relations in the Central Asian country. The delegation’s talks took place at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and four universities.

Ádám Lengyel, a Finance and Accounting student at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Debrecen won the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) Workspace Portfolio Management competition. Over two hundred future economists from 16 countries participated in the prestigious competition.

The repaired and renovated DASE running track has been inaugurated on Böszörményi úti campus of the University of Debrecen. The upgraded athletics track will be the university's sports education and sports science training venue. The track will be used primarily by students of the Institute for Sports Science Coordination, the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Agriculture, Food Science and Environmental Management, but it will also be available to the entire university community as well as the citizens of our city.

Katinka Battai Sugár, a member of the Hungarian women's fencing team, is now a two-time world champion after winning the gold medal at the World Fencing Championships in Milan on Sunday. The DEAC fencer, a student of the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Economics and Business Administration majoring in Recreation and Lifestyle, has taken a big step towards Olympic participation in Paris.

15 PhD students of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Debrecen have attended this year's youth meeting of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The European Youth Event offers thousands of young people from all over the world the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the EU organization and meet decision-makers.

On May 24-26, 2023, the #CARPE2023 international scientific traveling conference was hosted by Glasgow, Scotland. The University of Debrecen was represented at the conference by a delegation of twenty, led by László Csernoch, vice-rector for science.

Guest students from Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Bulgaria came to the first Erasmus+ BIP (Blended Intensive Program) course of the University of Debrecen. In addition to interactive language sessions the four-day GloLiteToLead training course included gave awareness-raising presentations given by managers of domestic and international companies, organized by the Faculty of Economics.
