On Saturday, the Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Arts (BTK) of the University of Debrecen (DE) and the Hungarian Traditional Chinese Costumes Club welcomed those interested in an event organized on the occasion of Traditional Chinese Folk Costume Day with a presentation of traditional Chinese clothing, a tea ceremony and food tasting.

On Thursday, Professor Izaak Hendrik Wenno, dean of the Indonesian Faculty of Teacher Education, Pattimura University, gave an online presentation with the title Archipelago Education, organized by the National Association of Doctoral Students (DOSZ).
His Excellency Mr. Ali Hadi Hameed Al-Bayati, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq to Hungary, has discussed issues including the increasing the number of Iraqi students enrolled at the University of Debrecen and the opportunities for cooperation in research and development with Rector Zoltán Szilvássy. During his official visit, Ali Hadi Hameed Al-Bayati also met Iraqi students at our university.
Chen Kun, education Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary visited the Confucius Institute of UD on Tuesday. At the event, the Hungarian director of the Confucius Institute of the University of Miskolc gave a presentation to students about industrial developments in China.
The University of Debrecen has announced its next round of applications in the Erasmus programme for the academic year 2023/2024. More than 250 students will have a chance to complete a part-time study abroad or internship program in Europe or in a distant part of the world. The deadline for the applications is 15 March.

The Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Humanities of UD held a conference entitled “Tea culture in China and in Hungary” in Gyomaendrőd between 21-23 October. The academic presentations were accompanied by exhibitions, concerts, dance performance and sport demonstration.
The musical Hair, performed by a company comprised of international students, received a great applause in the university theatre. Representing 13 countries, the young actors and actresses amazed the audience on Sunday.
Without plant protection, there is no efficient agriculture, as we learned at the 27th Eastern Hungarian Plant Protection Forum. At the event, organised jointly by the Institute of Plant Protection of UD and organisations operating in the sector, experts discussed the transformation of plant protection in Hungary and the impact of the relevant EU directives.
International students from countries like Mongolia, Vietnam, Russia, Mexico, Syria and Iran will appear in the musical Hair performed by the university theatre. The iconic musical means more for the company than ever, as many of the actors and actresses can personally relate to war. Hair will be presented at oDEon on 23 October.
