From September, more than 7,300 students are expected to study in the University of Debrecen's English-language courses, the largest student community in Central and Eastern Europe. The University will use the funds from the training of foreign students to launch a postdoctoral scholarship to support research.

In the past couple of days, fourteen lecturers and students of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern have participated in the social work field practice of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The Faculty of Humanities (FoH) of the University of Debrecen (UD) said goodbye to its Chinese students graduating in Hungarian studies on Thursday at the end-of-the-academic-year ceremony held in the Main Building. The 15 Chinese graduates started their studies in Debrecen three years ago, thanks to an international educational cooperation.
A delegation from Fujian Province on the southeastern coast of China came to our city recently to learn about the history of our institution, its program offers and research activities that harmonize with the requirements of industrial enterprises and the admission opportunities for students from abroad to the University of Debrecen. Within the framework of Erasmus+, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management of the University of Debrecen (MÉK - Mezőgazdaság-, Élelmiszertudományi és Környezetgazdálkodási Kar) has launched an innovative program development project related to the precision agricultural engineering program. The aim of this three-year project is to design and develop a two-semester MSc program. The results achieved so far were presented on Wednesday at the Böszörményi úti campus of UD.
The recent premiere of the musical titled “The Lion King” at UD’s oDEon turned out to be a huge success. In the adaptation of the two-act play written and composed by Elton John and Tim Rice, the company of international students of the university theatre, together the child actors and actresses who have just made their debut by immediately playing leading parts, performed beyond expectations.
Last Thursday, the Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen celebrated Chinese Language Day by arranging a poem recitation competition titled Petőfi 200 and the opening of an exhibition called The Power of Poetry: Lu Xun and Petőfi.
