The University of Debrecen has published its new image film presenting the philosophy of the stronghold of Hungarian higher education. Commitments, aims, failures, successes, life stories.

From September, space professionals will be trained in English at the University of Debrecen. Prospective students will be able to learn about space medicine, space telemedicine, and space pharmacy and space nutrition, among other things, as part of the UniSpace programmed. The postgraduate specialization will start in September and applications are open until 12 August.

The number of international students at the University of Debrecen continues to grow further. This year, around 2000 new students from foreign countries will be enrolled at our university and, in total, more than 7500 international students are expected to start their fall semester at UD as of September.

Joining the initiative of the European Day of Languages, the University of Debrecen held a series of programs by the title Európai Nyelvi Koktélbár [verbatim: European Language Cocktail Bar] again this year. On Tuesday, almost 600 high school students could take a playful virtual trip to “visit” European countries in the Inner Courtyard of the Main Building of UD.

From September, more than 7,300 students are expected to study in the University of Debrecen's English-language courses, the largest student community in Central and Eastern Europe. The University will use the funds from the training of foreign students to launch a postdoctoral scholarship to support research.

The Institute of German Studies at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen joined the #GermanPlusDebrecen campaign, launched in May 2023 by Deutsches Kulturforum Debrecen, with short films promoting the German language.

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Debrecen offers applicants excellent teachers and infrastructure, and a unique environment. The Faculty also puts emphasis on talent management, research work and practice-oriented education.

The Hall of the Main Building of the University of Debrecen was filled to capacity on the first day of the enrollment event, DExpo. Hundreds of high school students, future university students, parents, and teachers listened to the information about the institution, the training offers, and changes to admission and student life at the opening on Wednesday.

Among universities in Hungary, UD has been one of the most popular choices of students taking supplementary entrance examinations. A total of more than nine hundred applications have been received for admission to as many as 86 programs.

After the general application procedure, as many as 6958 first-year students will be able to start their university studies in the Hungarian-language programs of the UD as of September 2021.
