The University of Debrecen has signed a cooperation agreement with Eve Power Hungary Kft. concerning human resources training, a student scholarship programme, joint research and development activities and the establishment of a battery research institute. Eve Power, the world's ninth largest battery manufacturer, is building its first European plant in Debrecen.

According to Mr. Hu Tao, the CEO of SEMCORP Hungary Kft., the Hungarian branch of the global leader in the production of lithium-ion battery separator films is seeking long-term cooperation opportunities with the University of Debrecen. Mr. Tao made this announcement before signing an agreement on joint research, development and education with the leaders of our institution.
H.E. Gong Tao, the new ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Budapest, has discussed new opportunities for cooperation between the University of Debrecen and Chinese companies as well as institutions of higher education with Rector Zoltán Szilvássy. During the visit of his delegation, the Chinese diplomat and his staff also met some Chinese international students enrolled at our university.
A leadership symposium „Past, present and future of the business service sector in Debrecen - Opportunities and challenges in the tripartite cooperation of secondary professional training, higher education and the sector” was organized by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Debrecen, the Debrecen BSC Roundtable and the Debrecen Vocational Training Center.
The University of Debrecen (UD) is intent on putting the study of biodiversity, climate change, sustainable development and water management on a new footing. A Tudományos és Társadalmi Tanácsadó Testület [Scientific and Social Advisory Board] of fifty-seven members supporting the work of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen (GTIDEA), which operates and maintains the University of Debrecen, has been established.
