The Oncoradiological Clinic of the University of Debrecen has been awarded the title Elekta Qualified Regional Training Centre. This means that, from next year, the clinic will offer theoretical and practical training programs for oncoradiology specialists from Central and Eastern Europe. The relevant cooperation agreement was signed by the representatives of our institution and those of the company Elekta on Wednesday at the University of Debrecen.

The University of Debrecen and CATL's Hungarian subsidiary have signed a strategic partnership agreement. This cooperation covers several fields and disciplines, including IT, engineering, natural sciences, research and development, education, as well as science and industry. The ensuing cooperation will enable our university to move forward in the development of engineering programs that satisfy corporate needs, while CATL Debrecen will definitely benefit from this milestone through strengthening the supply of professional experts in Hungary.

Three faculties, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Informatics and the Faculty of Humanities, of the University of Debrecen were represented at a conference called CogInfoCom (Cognitive infocommunications) at Chuo University, Japan, which was attended by academics from universities located on several continents. This event primarily focused on the potential of merging human and digital environments, artificial intelligence, info-communication and cognitive skills.

The research and development collaboration continues between the University of Debrecen and GE HealthCare, one of the world’s leading medtech companies, to support radiation therapy treatments. As part of this cooperation, the Oncoradiology Clinic participates in the software validation program of GE HealthCare. The agreement regarding the cooperation on the complex radiation treatment system application was finalized on Wednesday.

The KAIZEN™ Award was presented for the first time in Hungary at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen (DE MK). The award was given to companies that operate according to the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement. This useful approach is also taught as a subject at the Faculty of Technology's Department of Management and Entrepreneurship.

The training session of the first group of students enrolled in the vehicle engineering bachelor's degree (undergraduate) program in the automotive vehicle engineering specialization at the BMW Group Factory Debrecen Training Center has been completed. Among other special fields, the participants were introduced to design, machining, sheet metal working and the assembly and disassembly of components.

Teachers of German from top-priority German language training institutions of Debrecen’s Vocational Training Center (Debreceni Szakképzési Centrum - DSZC) came to a special further training session hosted by the University of Debrecen (UD) on Thursday. The event also included a workshop for language teachers on corporate communication, organized by the companies British Telecommunications, Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions, Schaeffler Debrecen and Transcosmos Hungary.

On almost 800 square metres, 80 exhibitors and more than 2,000 jobs awaited visitors at the largest job fair in the region, held in the Main Building of the University of Debrecen. Supply was excellent this time too, with students not only finding positions, but also internships, volunteering opportunities and scholarships abroad.

Rector of the University of Debrecen Zoltán Szilvássy gave an online lecture on industrial cooperation at the 13th AtomExpo International Forum. Experts from more than 24 countries participated in the two-day professional meeting in the city of Sochi. The HRD session of AtomExpo 2024, entitled "International University-Industry Projects: From Theory to Practice," discussed current topical issues of industry and higher education.

Sports Diagnostics, Lifestyle and Therapy Center of the University of Debrecen (Debreceni Egyetem Sportdiagnosztikai, Életmód és Terápiás Központja – SET) has received a major recognition after the recent opening of the physiotherapy and physiotherapeutic complex of the BMW Group Factory in Debrecen’s health center. The facility will support the rehabilitation of employees.
