The Divison of Operative Techniques and Surgical research and Interactive Medical Practice Centre of the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Debrecen have been awarded a certificate of excellence. The outstanding work of the institution has been recognised by one of the world's leading simulator development companies. The certificate was presented at a conference on simulation education in Debrecen on Tuesday at the Learning Center.

The KAIZEN™ Award was presented for the first time in Hungary at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen (DE MK). The award was given to companies that operate according to the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement. This useful approach is also taught as a subject at the Faculty of Technology's Department of Management and Entrepreneurship.
The team of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen won 3rd place in the Best Presentation category at a conference held in Singapore. The main aim of the International Conference on E-Learning in Industrial Electronics is to present the connection between modern education and e-learning methods.
This year's congress of European membrane scientists was held at the University of Debrecen, where the latest research results in the field were discussed at the European Joint Theory/Experiment Meeting on Membranes (EJTEMM), which took place between 12 and 14 June. The meeting was organised by the Institute of Biophysics and Cell Biology, Faculty of Medicine.
The conference Sustainable Economy – Sustainable Society (Fenntartható gazdaság – fenntartható társadalom), jointly organized and hosted by the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen and the Hungarian National Bank, was kicked off with a series of plenary lectures delivered by distinguished foreign speakers and was continued with academic presentations in Hungarian and English by almost 200 participants at the Böszörményi úti campus of UD. This academic forum also celebrated the 30th anniversary of the start of the higher education program in economics and business in Debrecen.
A conference organised by the International Student Union (ISU), an association of foreign students, was held on Thursday at the Learning Center: students enrolled in the English-language programmes of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Debrecen (DE TTK) heard presentations on scientific work, the opportunities of TDK (Students’ Scientific Research) and the institution's talent management programmes.
The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen is intent on introducing innovative and experiential education in line with the expectations and requirements of the 21st century. This was announced at the conference entitled Industry Days in Debrecen, held on Wednesday at Nagyerdei Stadium, jointly organized by our institution of higher education, Debrecen’s Municipality and the Technical Committee of the Debrecen Academic Committee. There were about 30 industrial companies presenting their products at the trade exhibition linked to the program.
In addition to coronary heart disease, heart failure and cardiac arrhythmias, the latest treatment options for comorbidities, including hypertension, diabetes and obesity, will be discussed by experts at the 29th Debrecen Cardiology Days, which started on Thursday. Around five hundred cardiologists, nephrologists, diabetologists and general practitioners are attending the meeting at the University of Debrecen.
The Károly Ihrig Doctoral School of Management and Business of the University of Debrecen has held an international conference of PhD students, sponsored by the university’s Faculty of Economics and Hungary’s Central Bank. Hungarian and foreign students delivered presentations in ten sessions. Gergely Baksay, Managing Director responsible for economic and budget analysis of the Central Bank gave a plenary presentation. The programme included a round table discussion too.
Participants in Hungary’s largest sports conference could get acquainted with the sports ecosystem of the University of Debrecen, which is unique in Hungary, as well as with its extensive sports science trainings and innovations. The experts of our Sports Science Coordination Institute prepared several presentations for this event and even a stand as the only higher education institution to display information there.
