The Faculty of Agriculture, Food Science and Environmental Management and the Faculty of Science and Technology will host an international conference this year as part of the Debrecen University Symposium. The University of Debrecen (UD/DE) Scientific Council decided on the winners of the competition at its meeting last week.

The research group Hungary in Medieval Europe of the Institute of History of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Debrecen has recently hosted an international historians' conference titled “Political, cultural, religious, and economic transformations in the 15th and 16th centuries.” There were two honorary doctors of the institute giving talks at the conference.
The latest research results in the field of historiography were presented by experts at the 3rd International Historiography Conference, organised by the Institute of History of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen (DE) between 21-23 November. The three-day international conference was also the occasion for the presentation of a monograph on István Szabó, an outstanding Debrecen historian.
The University of Debrecen was one of the professional partners of the two-day AI Transformation Conference organized by Corvinus University of Budapest and the Shenzhen Research Institute of the University of Hong Kong, China, where leading scientists from around the world discussed scientific opportunities offered by artificial intelligence.
The Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen (DE MK) also participated in a prestigious international conference of renowned architects and architecture students in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. This year's Gerontology Days 2024 International Scientific Conference, which took place between 10-11 October 2024 at the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Health Sciences campus in Nyíregyháza, was concluded with outstanding professional interest. The two-day event aimed to raise awareness of the latest research innovations and best practices related to the quality of life, health and social inclusion of older people. The conference brought together experts, researchers, health and social care professionals and policy makers to discuss current challenges and solutions for the care of older people.
The Institute of English and American Studies, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Debrecen celebrated the 40th anniversary of the introduction of Canadian Studies and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Canadian-Hungarian diplomatic relations with an international conference. The event, which took place on 24-25 October, was graced by the presence of the Canadian Ambassador to Hungary and the Consul General of Hungary in Montreal. Following the opening ceremony, the world-famous author Margaret Atwood welcomed the participants with a video message.

The international conference on Education and Care in the Service of Social Well-being - Challenges of Education and Care in an Age of Crises was jointly organized by the Faculty of Childhood Education and Special Education (CEE) and the Faculty of Humanities.
The Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen (DE) organized this year's traditional conference in Gyomaendrőd on the theme of Song, Music, Folklore, Mythology in Chinese Culture and Language Teaching. This event primarily focused on the potential of merging human and digital environments, artificial intelligence, info-communication and cognitive skills.
