The topic of opening new areas of partnership between the University of Debrecen and a number of institutions of higher education in the state of Indiana, the United States of America, was in the focus of discussions between Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales and Rector Zoltán Szilvássy recently. A range if further topics at their meeting included new international cooperation channels used by our university as well as corporate relations cultivated by our institution.

A record number of students attended 4th International Academic Conference at the University of Debrecen. Organized by International Student Union (ISU), the event was attended by over 400 students, who listened to presentations on academic work in the faculties, TDK opportunities and the institution's talent management programs.
Several PhD students and young specialists from the University of Debrecen presented their research findings at the event called European Workshop for Rheumatology Research (EWRR) held in Budapest, Hungary, where they discussed the latest research findings in the fields of cellular immunology, pain, tissue damage, immune tolerance, autoinflammation and autoimmunity.
Experts from as many as thirteen different countries shared their latest research findings on the education and upbringing of children with special needs at a conference hosted by DE GYGYK [Faculty of Education for Children and Special Educational Needs of the University of Debrecen]. The conference also marked the establishment of the Special Treatment International Research Group, led by the faculty located in Hajdúböszörmény.
An international conference on muscle relaxation in surgery and related anaesthesia patient safety was organised by the Tassonyi Edömér Neuromuscular Working Group of the Department of Anaesthesiology, University of Debrecen Clinical Centre. Participants discussed the most important theoretical and practical issues related to the use of muscle relaxants in surgery during the two-day professional programme in Budapest.
Representatives of partner companies could learn in detail about wide-ranging corporate network and development strategy of the University of Debrecen, the training system and new investments at the Faculty of Engineering, as well as the industrial development plans and achievements of our city at the conference named Az Ipar Napja Debrecenben [Industry Day in Debrecen]. There were some thirty companies represented at the exhibition of the related trade fair in the building of Lovarda [the former Equestrian Center].
The 5th Music Pedagogy Conference in Debrecen provided an opportunity for researchers, performers and teachers of music, musicology and music education to exchange ideas, learn about and discuss new research.

The University of Debrecen (UD/DE) Scientific Council decided on the winners of the competition at its meeting last week.
The research group Hungary in Medieval Europe of the Institute of History of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Debrecen has recently hosted an international historians' conference titled “Political, cultural, religious, and economic transformations in the 15th and 16th centuries.” There were two honorary doctors of the institute giving talks at the conference.
The latest research results in the field of historiography were presented by experts at the 3rd International Historiography Conference, organised by the Institute of History of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen (DE) between 21-23 November. The three-day international conference was also the occasion for the presentation of a monograph on István Szabó, an outstanding Debrecen historian.
