Three years from now, the University of Debrecen will host the European University Games in ten sports and thousands of athletes. At the press conference held after the meeting of the organising committee it was revealed that never before had a sport event of this scale been organised in Hungary.

A package of altogether 33 various events are going to be offered to those interested in visiting the Debrecen festival site of Campus Fesztivál Egyetem Tér [University Square, Campus Festival], which “returns” after skipping last year’s occasion.
Debrecen Ice Rink has been recently extended to include a total area of 420 square meters, comprising two changing rooms of 24 square meters each, a multifunctional training room, a changing room for coaches, a medical room and doping control station as well as three office venues.
Adjacent to the Learning Center, the sports facility in Dóczy street will soon turn into a Sport Campus. This year the stands will be upgraded, which will be followed by the extension of the facilities of the DEAC next year.
yoUDay has made it to the program of the Stay Home! Festival. A shortened summary of last year’s stadium show in front of capacity crowds to kick off the new academic year of the University of Debrecen was viewed by over ten thousand people on the largest social media interface.
On May 1, DEAC [Athletic Club of the University of Debrecen] is going to host a family event in the Sports Center of the University, offering sports competitions and free health screening possibilities. The main feature of the event is going to be the charity running contest.
The number of sections in DEAC has grown to 19, as from the next season on football players will also compete wearing jerseys with the colours of the club. Players can register themselves for the team at the Dóczy street University Sports Centre.
The ambassador of Canada gave a lecture at the University of Debrecen. Isabelle Poupart also visited a training of the DEAC ice hokey team, where she met two Canadian players who taught her a few tricks.

The DEAC-DAK University Table Tennis Centre was opened at the Nagyerdei Stadium on Sunday. In the 700-square-metre facility, licensed and amateur players, including university students may use as many as 15 tables from now on.
