More than 1 million forints has been offered to the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology by International Students’ Union, part of the student government of the University of Debrecen. They have allocated part of the proceeds of last year’s International Food Day to buy two patient beds.

The Institute of English and American Studies of the UD and Indiana University, USA, will launch a joint Hungarian-American virtual language learning program and linguistic research seminar in the spring. The program involves 37 first-year, undergraduate, teaching major and master students.
21,000 applicants have chosen the University of Debrecen as a host institute in the 2021/22 Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme, accounting for 42% of all applications. The most popular courses are the public health and the technical programmes of UD.

The University of Debrecen has launched a mental support service for its foreign students, based at the School of Public Health of the Faculty of Public Health. The faculty works together with the Mental Health Centre, which will be responsible for the coordination of the services provided.
Students of the Faculty of Humanities who have successfully applied for the dual programme in the academic year 2020/2021 can obtain a degree from the University of Florence and the University of Debrecen at the same time.
The results of a university survey initiated by the Faculty of Economics and Business, which focused on the e-learning system introduced in the 2nd semester of the academic year 2019/20 due to the Covid pandemic, have revealed that students at UD are satisfied with the system.
The renewed University and National Library of UD has been officially opened. Owing to the HUF 400 million invested in the project, now the library awaits visitors with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Supported by the Ministry of Human Resources (EMMI), the University of Debrecen (UD) and the National Public Health Centre have agreed to promote creation of up-to-date vaccine production in Hungary. The agreement was signed in the Ministry on Friday.
