A cooperation agreement was signed on Thursday, March 26, by the leaders of the University of Debrecen and those of the Education University of Hong Kong in order to launch faculty and student exchanges as well as joint research projects in the future. The significance of this agreement is also indicated by the fact that UD is the first Hungarian university with which the institution located in the Far East has signed such an agreement on the basis of successful preliminary negotiations.

BMW Group Plant in Debrecen and the University of Debrecen are determined about further strengthening their collaboration. According to a new agreement between them, the general practitioner (GP) services of our Clinical Center are available as of now to plant employees for their primary healthcare needs. This latest agreement clearly reveals the value-creating effect of this cooperation between higher education and industry.
There have been two meetings held recently with the aim of expanding cooperation between the University of Debrecen and Uzbek institutions of higher education. The agenda of these meetings included the discussion of the possibilities of establishing new institutional relationships, launching language courses and implementing mobility ideas.

A commemorative plaque was unveiled at the Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy at the University of Debrecen in honour of Professor Madhaw Singh Baghel, an internationally respected scholar of Indian Ayurvedic medicine and the founding Chairperson of the University of Debrecen's Ayurveda Chair. The ceremonial event on Tuesday was attended by His Excellency Anshuman Gaur, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Hungary. A framework agreement, which was signed on Friday, will take this successful joint work to the next level, where a focus on radiochemical developments as well as state-of-the-art AI-supported radiation planning processes and innovations could make patient care at our Clinical Center safer and more efficient.
During the course of their visit to the University of Debrecen, the members of a delegation from the Education University of Hong Kong discussed opportunities for cooperation in research as well as teacher and student exchanges. Thanks to this successful establishment of contacts, the representatives of the two institutions are expected to sign an agreement on this issue this coming spring.
Several delegations from China have visited the University of Debrecen recently in order to discuss cooperation possibilities in the fields of engineering and natural sciences, student exchange programs and even plans for a cultural festival. A delegation from the city of Nanjing paid a visit to the recently inaugurated Vehicle Laboratory, while experts from Wuhan University took a tour of the laboratories of the Faculty of Science and Technology.
In accordance with the idea of international mobility, Anna Zsófia Nagy, who currently specializes in pop music singing at the Institute of Pop Music of UD, will get a chance to take part in a training program offered by Loyola University in New Orleans. She will be the first ever pop music student in Hungary to participate in an international scholarship program, making it possible for her to pursue her studies for almost six months in one of the key hubs of the music industry.
As a consequence of the automotive investments in Debrecen, our city has become a new center of the automotive industry in Central Europe, which exerts significant influence on the life of Debrecen. In order to study the overall impact, a research group called DEB AUT has been established at the University of Debrecen, which examines how this kind of development affects employment, training needs, university structure, urban transport, cultural life and social mobility.
