Experts from the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen have developed a mathematically based traffic simulation model that helps to use autonomous vehicles more safely. The publication on the special statistical method was published in the international journal PLos One.

Researchers at the Faculty of Pharmacy are working on creating antiviral compounds. The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry participates in developing medicines that can be used against the corona virus under the auspices of the National Virology Laboratory.

On the occasion of the centenary, a new volume of studies on Trianon has been published by the Institute of History, of the Faculty of Arts, UD. In addition to experts of UD, the Institute’s foreign partners also contributed to the volume.

In cooperation with leading universities from seven countries, the University of Debrecen has established a consortium for the development of neuroscience. The opening ceremony of NeurotechEU will be held on Wednesday with about a thousand participants.

The Faculty of Dentistry of UD has two 3D printers now. This state-of-the-art technology can be used for making dental impressions, implant templates and "scaffolding".

Compared to last year, the University of Debrecen has gained 100 places in the category of medical and health sciences of the Times Higher Education Ranking. UD has also finished among the best 500 in the subject of Social Sciences, while it has been ranked in the 501-600 range in Life Sciences.

Zoltán Barta, university teacher of the Faculty of Technology and Science at UD has become member of the Academia Europaea (AE). With the renowned behavioural ecologist, UD now has eight members in the organisation.

The Department of Botany at UD has digitalised its four botanical collections, and integrated data into a special database that can be used in distance learning as well. The structure, the morphological section and microscopic photos of various plants are all available in the virtual collection.
