A new type of fluorine-containing compounds chemically related to antitumour and antiviral agents, produced at the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Pharmacy, could play a role in the treatment of many serious diseases in the future. The scientific article on this topic was selected as one of the flagship publications of January by the Department of Chemical Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Research at the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Pharmacy is showing promise in the development of new active ingredients to prevent sudden cardiac death and inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells.

Participants of a 5-day summer school launched at UD on Monday can learn about preparations required before the electron microscopy studies of tissue samples and about how to manage the related practical problems. The administration of the second those of the Pfizer–BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to healthcare workers has been started at the University of Debrecen. In the following weeks more than 10,000 people will receive revaccination in Debrecen.
