Young Musicians’ Summer Academy 2017 ended with a concert given by Kodály Zoltán World Youth Orchestra at the University of Debrecen on Sunday. The next point on their agenda is an international concert tour with appearances in Bratislava, Galanta, Budapest and Eisenstadt.

There are going to be more than two hundred participants learning about the Hungarian language, history, and culture during the next couple of weeks at the University of Debrecen, where the 90th Summer School was officially opened and even a memorial tree was planted on July 17.

Tickets for the 2017 stadium-show of the University of Debrecen are available now at a 90% discount for students and employees of the university. In addition, the first 100 non-university affiliated registrants can also access admission for the low price of HUF 1538.

Attila Miyuji Kaneko is to give a concert at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen on the last occasion of the series called Conservatory Nights this year, scheduled for Sunday, May 7. The event marks the return of the Japanese-Hungarian pianist to Debrecen after a twenty-year absence.

A Russian Center has been established recently at the University of Debrecen. The aim of the new institution, set up through the sponsorship and contributions of the foundation Russkiy Mir [Russian World], is to popularize Russian culture and support the teaching of the Russian language.

Young musicians will be coming to the Faculty of Music this coming weekend from all over Hungary and even from abroad. Between April 8th and 10th, it is going to be the 40th occasion already that the Brass Winds and Percussion Meeting and Contest will be held here.

The event called International Food Day is going to be held at the University of Debrecen a week later than originally planned, on May 5th. The scheduling has been changed due to the unfavorable weather conditions forecast for the end of April.
