During their five-day visit to the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen, the pharmaceutical students of the University of Oradea ((Nagyvárad) were involved in, among other things, the formulation of nanoparticles and the preparation of biocosmetics. There is an ever closer cooperation between the two institutions.

As the best Hungarian university, the University of Debrecen made it to the top 400 in Times Higher Education's latest rankings that assess universities against the UN's Sustainable Development goals (SDGs). On the famous British ranking Tier list, the institution made significant progress in three categories and overall. UD is now among the first 100 in the Partnerships for Goals category.

The University of Debrecen is taking over the costs of the two Ukrainian teams that have entered for the European 3x3 University Basketball Championship, thereby supporting the athletes of the war-torn country. Between July 15 and 19, forty teams will compete in front of the Main building of the university.

At a dissemination conference and workshop hosted by Egészségtudományi Kar [ETK] Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Debrecen, international experts discussed the results of the HealAll project and health tourism education development in the digital space. The delegation of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) arrived in Hungary last Friday for a two-day official visit. After Friday's briefing in Budapest, delegates visited the venues of next year's European University Games (EUG) in Miskolc and Debrecen on Saturday, paying special attention to Egyetem tér [University Square], which will function as the location for the 3x3 basketball tournament and also the European University Championships (EUC) between 15 and 19 July this year.

In addition to meeting South African students enrolled at the University of Debrecen, the high-ranking members of a delegation from the Republic of South Africa have learned about the program offer of our institution and the scholarship opportunities available through Stipendium Hungaricum.

The role of the family in education and vice versa as well as their interaction was analyzed at the international conference organized for the third time by the Faculty of Child Education and Special Education of the University of Debrecen together with the University of Pope John Paul II.

On May 24-26, 2023, the #CARPE2023 international scientific traveling conference was hosted by Glasgow, Scotland. The University of Debrecen was represented at the conference by a delegation of twenty, led by László Csernoch, vice-rector for science.

A student of the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Debrecen achieved an outstanding result in the Polish capital at the international congress of medical students conducting research. Mihály Székely, who is a member of a research group in Debrecen working on the fight against tumors, won in his own section.

Researchers presented the latest scientific results of the Horizon 2020-InnoVar project to support the efficiency of European plant cultivation and variety certification, at the Department of the Nyíregyháza Research Institute of the University of Debrecen's Agricultural Research Institutes and Teaching Institutions. In the program launched in 2019, the University of Debrecen cooperates with 21 consortium partners to develop innovative test methods that help growers to select varieties.

With more participants than ever before, the most recent Food Day featured dishes could be tried from as many as twenty-four different nations. The international student community of the University of Debrecen hosted their traditional gastronomical festival for the sixteenth time this year, which again served a charitable purpose.

As members of the second graduating class at our Faculty of Humanities, fifteen Chinese students, who started their studies in Hungarian at the University of Debrecen three years ago as participants in an international educational cooperation, are pretty close to the point of receiving their Hungarian BA diplomas.

The University of Debrecen and GE HealthCare have concluded and signed a research and development agreement to support radiotherapy treatment. The Department of Oncoradiology is the first institution in Europe to test the GE HealthCare software that constitutes a system of highly complex radiation therapy procedures. As for now, the application is only used in a testing environment but, once it gets involved in patient care, it will be able to provide more effective oncoradiology treatments.
