The University of Debrecen and the South Dakota State University have concluded an agreement for the purposes of the expansion of educational and research relations and the promotion of international cooperation. The partnership agreement was signed at Brookings by Endre Harsányi, the vice chancellor responsible for the development of agricultural and food science.

The software is already being installed on the 5 petaflops supercomputer called Komondor at the Supercomputer Center on the Kassai út Campus of the University of Debrecen. Researchers of UD have developed a technology that allows the manufacturing of a new dietary supplement by extracting antocianin from sour cherry. The consortium comprised of the university and Sorapharm Ltd. received an EU grant of over HUF 1.5 billion for the project. The dietary supplement developed in the framework of the project has been registered by the National Institute of Pharmacy and Nutrition. The results of the project were reported at UD on Thursday.
