A record number of news appeared about the University of Debrecen in the national and the local press. The number of reports and news items concerning the institute exceeded 18 thousand. The number of visits to the news page of the university reached half a million this year.

This weekened the winter graduation ceremonies of the University of Debrecen started with the ceremony of the graduates of the Faculty of General Medicine. During the graduation ceremonies nearly 1700 graduates of 9 faculties receive their degrees.
The University of Debrecen has improved its results in several areas on the university rankings. The performance of UD has improved not only among the universities in Hungary but also among international institutions, as a result of a conscious strategy plan.

The Social Sciences programmes of the University of Debrecen are among the best in the world. On the latest disciplinary ranking of Times Higher Education the University of Debrecen was ranked within the category of 301-400th places.
According to the list released on Monday, the UD has improved its ranking as the only Hungarian university in the field of technical sciences while in the field of natural sciences it has moved up 45 positions in the Round University Ranking (RUR) of institutions of higher education 2019.
According to Times Higher Education’s most recent ranking by subject, the UD places among the best Hungarian institutions of higher education. Along with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, the UD places in the 601-800 category on the Engineering & Technology list.
The UD is ranked in the 37th place in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) most recent regional ranking of Emerging European and Central Asian universities, published last Tuesday. Similarly to previous occasions, the university’s highest ranking was achieved in the category of international students.
The University of Debrecen and the Budapest headquarters of GE Healthcare have been given an opportunity to participate in the introduction and implementation in Europe of the methodology of the Catalyst programmme of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
