Foreign students were tasting stuffed cabbage and learning to do shepherd’s dances from Hajdúság at the folk lore night of the Debrecen Summer School (Nyári Egyetem). In addition to learning Hungarian, these students are also familiarising themselves with Hungarian culture and traditions as well.

DESzínház, the acting company of the University of Debrecen will represent Hungary at the International Amateur Theater Festival to be staged this year in New Brunswick, Canada, between August 27 and September 1.

Young talents from twenty countries are taking part in the International Summer Academy of Young Musicians. This year, the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen stages its summer programme, unique in Hungary, between 14 and 23 July.

Debreceni Egyetemi Színház Vígkarma Társulata [verbatim: Happy Karma Troupe of the Theatre of the University of Debrecen] is to represent Hungary at the 2019 international Amateur Theatre Festival hosted in Canada by AITA/IATA, the most successful association of amateur theatres in the world.

The participants of the special course of the University of Debrecen completed the semester by giving a pop concert. At the Sunday evening event, both the students and their instructors took the stage in Liszt Hall of the Faculty of Music.

With the contribution of the Department of Italian Studies of UD and in the framework of the Week of the Italian Language, DOLCE, the Italian Centre in Debrecen, was opened at the Youth House on Tuesday.

Foreign students who arrived for the autumn semester were greeted with traditional Hungarian food and drinks, as well as with a folk dance show at UD on Friday.

The Faculty of Music of UD is launching a new concert series – the Steinway Piano Evenings offers a special experience by demonstrating the abilities of the world-class instrument of the university. Currently, the faculty offers 6 concert series.
