The renewed University and National Library of UD has been officially opened. Owing to the HUF 400 million invested in the project, now the library awaits visitors with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

On Monday, life has restarted in the University ad National Library, (DEENK), University of Debrecen. The library spaces can be visited again and services have also returned to what they were before the restrictions due to the corona virus.

The University and National Library of UD will host the international conference Open Access Infrastructure Research in Europe (OpenAIRE) between 15–17 January, which will be attended by nearly 100 professionals from 34 countries.

The Life Sciences Library will be open for students until midnight in the exam period. In addition to the longer opening hours, the University and National Library of UD (DEENK) has also introduced a new service for the online uploading of journals.

DEAC és UniFit-pass, library card or dormitory key, means of payment and a card granting you discounts all in one – the UniPass card, available to the citizens of the University of Debrecen free of charge, now has even more functions.

The Government of India donated a collection of approximately five hundred volumes to the University of Debrecen. The books on Ayurvedic Medicine were presented to Prof. Zoltán Szilvássy, Rector, by Mr. Rahul Chhabra, the Ambassador of India to Hungary, on Monday.

In addition to its traditional responsibilities, the University and National Library of the University of Debrecen regards modernization and the establishment of even broader accessibility through expanding online spaces to be the most important of its future objectives.

The University and National Library celebrated its centennial with a conference, a book presentation, an exhibition presenting the history of the library, and a huge, 100-slice birthday cake.
