In keeping with tradition, on Thursday, the International Office of the University of Debrecen and the Student Committee for Foreign Affairs of the institution welcomed 130 students from 21 countries who had arrived in the framework of the Erasmus scholarship program with a Welcome Dinner in the Main Building's Lobby.

From September, more than 7,300 students are expected to study in the University of Debrecen's English-language courses, the largest student community in Central and Eastern Europe. The University will use the funds from the training of foreign students to launch a postdoctoral scholarship to support research.

Within the framework of Erasmus+, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management of the University of Debrecen (MÉK - Mezőgazdaság-, Élelmiszertudományi és Környezetgazdálkodási Kar) has launched an innovative program development project related to the precision agricultural engineering program. The recent premiere of the musical titled “The Lion King” at UD’s oDEon turned out to be a huge success. The University of Debrecen has announced its next round of applications in the Erasmus programme for the academic year 2023/2024. More than 250 students will have a chance to complete a part-time study abroad or internship program in Europe or in a distant part of the world. The deadline for the applications is 15 March.

The University of Debrecen celebrated the beginning of the new academic year with a full-house event at the Nagyerdei Stadium on Wednesday. In addition to Hungarian stars, artists of the Institute of Pop Music and international students of the oDEon company also gave concerts. About 20,000 people attended the 6th year-opening stadium show of UD.
After two years, Erasmus students have arrived to the University of Debrecen again. The students involved in the mobility programme were received by representatives of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Student’s Council, the International Office, and the Erasmus Student Network in the Hall of the Main Building.
