The University of Debrecen has recently received a delegation from Zhangjiajie College in China. The delegation from this Far Eastern institution of higher education, which has nearly 20,000 students, a broad range of courses and as many as 52 undergraduate programs on offer, was primarily interested in our university's programs on the arts.

The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Debrecen welcomed its first-year international students with an outdoor picnic on Wednesday. The organizers of Welcome Day – Freshers’ Picnic sought to make sure that the participants should not only gain access to the curriculum required in order to obtain their degrees but they should also become acquainted with the faculty, Hungarian culture and customs, and the city of Debrecen in an informal setting.
Russian Cultural and Language Center of the Faculty of Humanities is launching a new language course primarily for foreign students enrolled at the University of Debrecen. Besides students of our university, high school students and other residents of Debrecen can also take advantage of this opportunity to learn Russian at one of three levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced).

A group of students from the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen have recently took a trip to the capital city of the Czech Republic as part of Pannónia Ösztöndíjprogram [Pannonia Scholarship Programme]. Their three-day short-term group study trip, available for both teachers and students, also consisted of a visit to Czech Technical University (CTU) and the special building of the Czech National Library of Technology (NLT).
Together with its partners, Innovációs Ökoszisztéma Központ [Innovation Ecosystem Centre], of the University of Debrecen is to issue a call for participants in two student idea competitions during the month of May. The central topics of these competitions will be Campus Fesztivál and the innovative use of artificial intelligence.

The latest group of international students arriving for the spring semester at the University of Debrecen have been recently treated to a Welcome Dinner, consisting of a traditional Hungarian meal and a folk dance party. This year, the largest number of the students have come from France and Turkey. In addition to Hungarian gastronomy and folklore, these students participating in the international mobility programs also got to know their peer-partners, who will facilitate their integration into our university. Following a line of previous successful events of this kind, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the Faculty of Agriculture, Food Science and Environmental Management have jointly hosted an Orientation Day for first-year international undergraduate, master's and PhD students. The objective of Wednesday's event was to present the cultural, leisure and social opportunities available at the university, at the faculties and in the city of Debrecen, as well as to provide useful information to help young foreigners integrate into our university community.
