Vietnamese students who graduated from the University of Debrecen back in the 1970s have returned to their alma mater to meet their one-time professors and fellow students. The event was organised within the framework of a conference designed to strengthen Hungarian-Vietnamese relations.

The method used for fetal DNA testing from the mother’s blood can also be used for the detection of tumours, cardiovascular diseases and infections. The latest research results in this field were recently presented at an international conference held at the University of Debrecen.

To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the existence of the Institute of Behavioural Sciences of the Faculty of Public Health of the Uversity of Debrecen organised a formal sitting. Its professionals teach at six faculties, and their Master’s Degree in health psychology is unique in Hungary.

Polish, Ukranian, and Hungarian students explored Hungarian water management issues within an international project at the Faculty of Agricultural, Food Science and Environmental Management of the University of Debrecen.

Israel declared statehood seventy years ago, on May 14, 1948. On the occasion of this anniversary the Faculty of Arts of the University of Debrecen organised an academic conference in the Kölcsey Culture Centre last Tuesday.

To support industrial development, the University of Debrecen has established the Institute of Engineering and Business Development Innovation, announced Zoltán Bács, Chancellor of the University of Debrecen, at the GE Suppliers’ Forum last Friday.

Participants of the events of the academic day hosted by Faculty of Law of the University of Debrecen discussed topical issues of international law. The academic day, which comprised two conferences, also provided a chance to students to present their own research findings.

With over 80 participants in seven sections, and with the involvement of PhD students from Zakarpatia, Upper Hungary, Transylvania and the Southern Land, the Márton Áron special college organised its conference at the University of Debrecen on 6 April.
