A cooperation agreement including the support of research and development as well as the offering of company-specific modules to UD students was signed on Friday by Rector Zoltán Szilvássy on behalf of the University of Debrecen and Managing Director Lukas Juranek on behalf of Continental.

Distinguished representatives of the Hungarian and international business life transfer their knowledge and experience in industry to students of the UD. The first courses offered by the Institute of Engineering and Business Development Innovation start in the second term of the 2018/19 year.

The Faculty of Engineering awaits its would-be students with laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology, continuously renewing trainings, 7 bachelors and 7 masters as well as several specialised trainings.

National Instruments Hungary Kft. (NI) has again decided to support the technical and scientific education of UD, this time by donating HUF 15 million. The delivery ceremony of the LabVIEW Multisim software licence took place on Tuesday at the Faculty of Engineering.

The Vice-President of General Electric Magyarország, Endre Ascsillán, discussed several topics in his presentation given at the Faculty of Public Health, including the role of communication in health policy, cost-effective health care and the significance of the programs offered by the UD.

World-class technical developments will be realised in the Biomechanical Laboratory of the University of Debrecen. The high-tech devices, including the 3D printer capable of producing metal bone prosthetics, were dedicated at the 25th anniversary celebration of the laboratory.

Diehl Aviation Hungary, a company designing and manufacturing aircraft parts, has created a design lab at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of UD, where students will learn about cutting-edge technology applied in aircraft design.

With its educational, research and innovative activities connected to the TE-FOOD food safety and tracking system, the University of Debrecen may become an internationally recognised competency centre. The related agreement was signed by UD and the Laurel Group on 18 October.

The University of Debrecen is to establish a proton therapy institute on the basis of an agreement signed earlier with Rusatom International Network, which is going to be the first step in the cooperation with Institute of Nuclear Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Students from Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management have won the contest called Health Venture Competition of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. The gold medal they have received has been awarded for their millets (cereal) based line of products.
