The University of Debrecen has recently received a delegation from Zhangjiajie College in China. The delegation from this Far Eastern institution of higher education, which has nearly 20,000 students, a broad range of courses and as many as 52 undergraduate programs on offer, was primarily interested in our university's programs on the arts.

A delegation from East China University of Technology has discussed the possibility of launching joint programs at the University of Debrecen. President Luo Xianping and his colleagues discussed the preparations with the leaders of our university and Coordinating Center for International Education, following which they also visited the two faculties involved.
The Director of Maharana Pratap College of Pharmacy in India had a chance to familiarize himself with the training system and infrastructure of the University of Debrecen and its Faculty of Pharmacy on Monday. The two institutions of higher education also signed a cooperation agreement for joint education, research and mobility.
On Tuesday, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg heard the lawsuit filed by the University of Debrecen against the Council of the European Union. At the hearing, Professor Zoltán Bács, representing the University of Debrecen, was given the opportunity to take the floor and he shared the position of our institution with the nine-member panel of judges. György Kossa, President of Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen, also attended the hearing.
A project launched by the University of Debrecen exploring the history of the Hungarian diaspora in Canada has been enriched with special documents, including personal papers related to the founding of Hungarian United Church of Montreal in 1926. The personal papers of Mihály Fehér, a former student of Debrecen’s Reformed College and the Royal Hungarian István Tisza University of Debrecen, were returned to Hungary thanks to his family's donation.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ecuador to Hungary held discussions about the possibility of increasing the number of Ecuadorian students at UD and establishing bilateral university relations and research collaboration projects with the University of Debrecen. A delegation from Uzbekistan arrived at the University of Debrecen (UD) for language assessment and evaluation training. Between August 18 and 29, at Türk Corner, English teachers will learn about the examination method developed by the institution's lecturers, which foreign teachers will now be able to see for the first time.
A delegation from the Faculty of Technology of the University of Debrecen held talks with five leading Chinese universities and representatives of three major engineering companies, during which joint education and research programmes were prepared. In keeping with tradition, Jürgen Sarnowsky, the newly inaugurated honorary doctor of the University of Debrecen (UD), presented his scholarly work and his most recent research findings in the form of a lecture. The professor of history at the University of Hamburg was awarded the title of Doctor honoris causa during a ceremony held in the venue called Aula of the Main Building on Friday.
