The University of Debrecen made the start of the academic year unforgettable again this year with a great atmosphere with Hungarian stars, a laser show with a German star DJ and a touching proposal in front of 20,000 people. On this year's yoUDay, on Wednesday evening, university students and staff, partners, high school students and residents of the city celebrated together again.

The President of the Pennsylvania Farmers Union is calling for an increase in the number of American students studying at the University of Debrecen, and is offering his support. Michael Kovach visited the institution on Thursday 12 September.

Students who studied at the Debrecen Summer School for a month and those who joined it for its second two-week section have done their final examination recently. Most of the students did a written exam. The exam tasks focused on grammar and vocabulary that the students mastered excellently. As many as 50 students passed the exam on the closing day of the Summer School.

From September, space professionals will be trained in English at the University of Debrecen. Prospective students will be able to learn about space medicine, space telemedicine, and space pharmacy and space nutrition, among other things, as part of the UniSpace programmed. The postgraduate specialization will start in September and applications are open until 12 August.

Nearly five thousand participants from four hundred and twenty-eight universities in thirty-seven countries attended the 2024 European University Games, organized by Debrecen-Miskolc. The events at both venues were characterized by unforgettable experiences, exciting matches and a wonderful atmosphere.

The number of international students at the University of Debrecen continues to grow further. This year, around 2000 new students from foreign countries will be enrolled at our university and, in total, more than 7500 international students are expected to start their fall semester at UD as of September.

More than one hundred students attend the prestigious Debreceni Nyári Egyetem [Debrecen Summer School] this summer, coming from as many as 30 different countries to study Hungarian language and culture as well as history in the next four weeks. On Monday, a grand opening ceremony was held in the University's Main Building to welcome the participants of the first two-week course.

The University of Debrecen presented its educational, research and innovation development trends, good practices and international relations at the Hungarian Summit in Florida. The event was attended by Károly Pető, Deputy Rector General, Péter Nagy, President of the GTIDEA Scientific and Social Advisory Board, and Zalán Bács, for the Institute for Sports Science Coordination.

A delegation from five American universities visited the University of Debrecen on Friday to discuss teaching-researcher exchange programmes, English-language training opportunities for their students, short summer programmes and one- or two-semester studies. The delegation visited three faculties.

The summer graduation ceremonies of the University of Debrecen (DE) are about to begin. Between 15 June and 2 July, almost 4,000 graduates from 13 faculties of the institution will receive their degrees.
