Connection in the field of pharmaceutical sciences in India

The Director of Maharana Pratap College of Pharmacy in India had a chance to familiarize himself with the training system and infrastructure of the University of Debrecen and its Faculty of Pharmacy on Monday. The two institutions of higher education also signed a cooperation agreement for joint education, research and mobility.

It was during his professional tour of Europe, which included Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, that the Director of Maharana Pratap College of Pharmacy visited the University of Debrecen. Director Vikram Kumar Sahu was received in the Main Building by Endre Harsányi, Vice-Rector for Agricultural and Food Science Development, and Okszána Kiszil, Director of Coordination and Strategy.


During their meeting, they reviewed the international institutional and industrial cooperation system at the University of Debrecen, its strategic focus areas and the composition of the international student community. Vikram Kumar Sahu was pleased to learn that there are as many as 363 students from India enrolled in our institution. Most of them are registered at the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Engineering, but quite a few are involved in the Faculty of Pharmacy and various doctoral programs.


On this occasion, the University of Debrecen and Maharana Pratap College of Pharmacy have also signed a cooperation agreement, which aims, among other things, to promote student and teacher mobility, joint research and development, and the preparation of joint publications and conferences. 


Next, Vikram Kumar Sahu visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, where he held talks with Dean Ildikó Bácskay and Associate Professor Pálma Fehér on the training program systems and infrastructure of the two institutions and the possibilities for student mobility. The meeting concluded with a tour of the faculty's ultramodern building and the nearby National Production, Research and Training Center.
