Mobility, study abroad and internship opportunities were presented to the students of the University of Debrecen at the Foreign Exchange on the #ErasmusDays in the cloister of the Main Building. This year's exchange focused on the opportunities offered by the Erasmus + programme.

The series of informative programmes for students started with Erasmus + Breakfast on 12th October and then continued with Mobility Café. The event was closed by the Foreign Exchange and Erasmus Day on 14th October, where students were welcomed by twelve stands and a number of study opportunities abroad.

- The direct benefit of the Erasmus programme is the establishment of a link between students and foreign organisations, higher education institutions, where students can continue their studies. At the event, they will be helped to have a better chance of applying for training abroad. Those who are admitted to the University of Debrecen also get a great opportunity for studies and internships abroad. Experience shows that those who live with this will perform better in their studies at home, will find a job more easily, improve their communication skills and improve their language skills greatly – emphasized Elek Bartha, Vice-Rector for Education at the University of Debrecen.

Orsolya Jánosy, the head of the International Office, UD, emphasised that the aim of the event was to inform students in detail shortly after the beginning of the academic year, so that they could easily incorporate foreign courses and internships into their studies.

- Every year, 400-500 of our students can go abroad with the support of various scholarships, in the Erasmus + programme. They are entitled to a 12-month grant per training level, and can use the grant in several instalments. The opportunity is open to all students, they can plan study periods abroad at different times. The aim of the new Erasmus programme cycle is to give as many students as possible the opportunity to gain experience abroad, so that they can also take part in short, intensive courses at foreign partner universities. The old forms of training, such as part-time training and internships, are still offered, but the range has also been expanded. The Foreign Exchange offers a very good opportunity for young people to learn not only about the opportunities offered by Erasmus and Campus Mundi, but also from other exhibitors – said the head of the International Office.

The #ErasmusDays programme series was jointly organised by the International Office of the University of Debrecen and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Student Union, UD.
