Aliaune Thiam, a.k.a. Akon, is among the most successful performers. He has conquered the world with his hits, and has worked together with stars like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Gwen Stefani, David Guetta, Flo Rida, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. His top-listed tracks have achieved hundreds of millions of hits on YouTube. This year he will give us a live show at the Campus Festival.
In addition to Akon, the Moroccan-Dutch DJ-producer R3hab, the "king" of drums and bass, Sigma, and the hardcore-punk Ignite, which comes from California and is lead by Zoli Téglás, will also be here.
- Over 200 Hungarian performers will give concerts at this year's Festival, which is a record number. For instance, a special show can be expected from Ákos, who has turned 50 this year, the also 50-year-old Laci Lukács of Tankcsapda, and András Lovasi, who celebrated his 50th birthday last year. They will play their greatest hits at the Festival – said Csaba Bakó, press manager of the event.
Among the Hungarian audience's favourites we will also see Majka and Curtis, Punnany Massif, Kowalsky meg a Vega, Szabó Balázs Band, Akkezdet Phiai and the Brains, among others.
Besides concerts, visitors can also attend literature and theatre programmes, audience-artist meetings, panel discussions, public readings, screenings, and Dumaszínház will also be present. This year again, Egyetem Tér will be held, where the departments of the UD will introduce themselves with colourful programmes.
- From day zero of the Festival, Egyetem Tér will await visitors at the usual place, near the main entrance. There will be interesting discussions with guests, including psychiatrist Imre Csernus and toxicologist Gábor Zacher, while on the stage young talents will give performances, including students of the popular music programme of the UD. The various units of the university will offer interesting programmes at their pitches – explained Mónika Rőfi, head of the Event Coordination and Alumni Centre of the university.
This year again, the Campus Festival awaits visitors at the Nagyerdei Stadium and the surrounding area with outstanding infrastructure from 18 to 22 July. Ticket sales started at the end of last year. Students and staff of the UD can buy tickets and passes for the 4-day event at discount prices.
More information on the performers and programmes of the Festival is available on the Facebook page of the event.
