The Debrecen University Press has reached an important milestone. The Press launched the E-notes model in 2014 (https://dupress.unideb.hu/hu/termekkategoria/e-jegyzetek/). The hybrid publishing system allows the publication of selected works in PDF format in the webshop for authors, in addition to hard copies. Users can read selected publications in the form of online books on the websites of the new MeRSZ database. The project started with the electronic publication of five volumes. From now on, publications will be selected on the basis of recommendations made by authors and the relevant faculties.
- Our appearance in the MeRSZ database increases the visibility of the compelling knowledge that UD authors possess, and serves the purposes of university education as well. Readers can choose from the formats depending on which one they can work more efficiently with. Increased visibility may also result in an increased number of citations for researchers, teachers and students, in addition to improving the quality of education – explained Erika Bátfai, head of the University Press.
The Hungarian Electronic Reference Services database makes available over 800,000 works created by more than 900 authors to 120,000 active users.
MeRSZ collects and publishes university books and notes, reviewed manuals, monographs, and collections of studies from various fields of science.
