Within the framework of this project and in connection with the development of cross-border healthcare, the Department of Cardiology has acquired, among others, a cardiac ultrasound device capable of 4D imaging, a hybrid incubator for the Department of Pediatrics, and a so-called bio-feedback device for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which may be regarded unique in adult patient care in Hungary for patients suffering from incontinence and pelvic prolapse to help their healing process.
Out of a total budget of three million euros, the University of Debrecen was the recipient of six hundred thousand euros.
The two-year project, which has been implemented in cooperation between the Institute of Cardiology of Timisoara (Romania), the University of Debrecen and the Oradea County Emergency Clinic (Romania), was completed in 2021 and won the European Best Practice title, as a consequence of which it was invited to the Art of Cooperation - Interreg Networking Platform 2023 conference organized by Széchenyi Programe Office with the support of the Prime Minister's Office.
“At this event, about thirty of the best cross-border Central European projects could present themselves to as many as six hundred participants. The special attention was further enhanced by the fact that only two health-related investments were invited out of the projects of the seven countries participating. The protocols created during the project are still in use on both sides of the border, and the various pieces of equipment purchased have already assisted in the recovery of thousands of patients,” said Assistant Professor and Specialist at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen Bence Kozma, who participated in the management of the project, to hirek.unideb.hu.
The University of Debrecen was represented at the conference by obstetrician-gynecologist Bence Kozma and Renáta Hüse, Managing Expert at Division of Grant Handling, Grant Centre.
