The Ukrainian delegation also had a chance to learn about the academic offerings and the doctoral programs available at the university during their visit on February 13.
“For the University of Debrecen, maintaining international relations is of outstanding importance, and the cooperation with institutions just across the border plays an extremely crucial part. Our relationship with the Ukrainian region, where there are two major universities, was made official more than two years ago. This meeting serves the purpose of strengthening the already existing connections,” said Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elek Bartha to unideb.hu.
The members of the delegation paid a visit to the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, following which they were given an opportunity to study the PhD programs currently running at our university.
“During the course of the meeting, the possibility of a jointly hosted international scholarly conference was raised, which could even result in the establishment of international “borderless” research groups in addition to the chance of presenting specific areas of research, which would be equally important for the young Ukrainian and Hungarian researchers,” said Zsolt Varga. The academic director underlined that our university would host the international conference called InterTalent this year, too, where there would be participants giving papers from neighboring Ukraine as well.
The members of the Ukrainian delegation are going to visit the Clinical Center of the university on Tuesday.
