Nearly 150 Erasmus students have begun their studies at UD in the academic year 2022/23. The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Student’s Council, the International Office, and the Erasmus Student Network held a welcome dinner to introduce Hungarian culture and cuisine to the students who came from all around the world.
- The number of students involved in the mobility programme is about to reach the level it was before the pandemic. This year, exchange students have arrived from 20 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Mexico and Kazakhstan within the framework of the Erasmus programme and bilateral agreements. As usual, most of the students arrived from Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Turkey, where the Erasmus programme is very popular. The international student community of over 7,000 young people at UD is very attractive for international students, and UD has been involved in partnership programmes with universities in Europe, America and Asia for decades – Orsolya Jánosy, head of the International Office told hirek.unideb.hu.
The director of the Office that coordinates mobility programmes pointed out that mobility opportunities had already been announced for the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023. The deadline for submitting applications is 30 September. Internship opportunities are available on an ongoing basis.
At the welcome dinner, traditional Hungarian dishes were served. International students loved stuffed cabbage and strudel. The evening continued with a dance party.
Erasmus students will have a wide variety of programmes in the Autumn semester. In addition to regular local community events, they will also visit Budapest and Eger.
