There are about a thousand international “freshers” arriving in Debrecen to start the fall semester in 2016, and they will soon get a chance to gain first-hand experience about what it is really like to belong to the University of Debrecen, a community of forty thousand students. On September 28, the students and staff of our institution will commence the new academic year with a gigantic show extraordinaire in Debrecen’s Nagyerdei Stadion [Big Forest Stadium].
The University of Debrecen is proud to have the highest number of international students among all the institutions of higher education in Hungary. This means more than four thousand students from as many as 100 different countries, including individuals who have covered 16 thousand kilometers to come to Hungary from New Zealand or from other distant and (for us) “exotic” countries like Bahrein, Belize, Benin, Fiji, Laos, Mauritius, Myanmar, or Togo.
These international students are all welcome to attend yoUDay, where there is going to be a separate sector of the stadium reserved just for them to watch and enjoy the gigs of the most popular Hungarian stars of stage and screen, spiced up with an amazing laser show and a surprise performance by several hundred students. In addition, the various student groups from different countries will also have a chance to introduce themselves by parading into Nagyerdei Stadion, flying their respective national flags.
Entry for students is going to be free, and every one of them can register two more people as guests for the event at a special entrance fee of HUF 500. Ordinary tickets for the event cost HUF 3900.
You can register and book tickets at the web page of Nagyerdei Stadion by clicking on the yoUDay logo and using your Neptun code. Sector “D” seats will be offered for you to choose from by the ticketmaster system.
Alternatively, you can also get your tickets in person as of September 12 in DVSC shop (located at the stadium) or in Campus Pont ticket office (situated in the Main Building of the University).
Come and celebrate together with the University of Debrecen!
