What could be used to make Campus Fesztivál, which is the biggest party of the summer, even more unforgettable? This question is the point of departure for a so-called hackathon, i.e. a competition for students to first brainstorm ideas and then share them with the organizers of Campus Fesztivál.
“Innovation Ecosystem Centre and the Campus Fesztivál team are going to host an all-day brainstorming competition on May 9, where everyone can showcase their creativity, be it in the fields of gastronomy and hospitality, festival marketing, enhancing the user experience, sustainability and the environment, or looking after each other and ensuring safety. During the course of this day, the Campus Fesztivál organizers will be assisting the students with practical experience, while my colleagues and myself will do our best to support the contestants in developing ideas and preparing for the presentation to the jury,” said Lilla Jutkusz, Director of Innovation Ecosystem Centre.
The teams that come up with the best and most relevant ideas will win entrance tickets to the major summer event. The deadline for entering applications is Monday, May 5. Find more detailed information at: https://innovacio.unideb.hu/hirek/campus-fesztival-hackathon-porgesd-fe...
Innovation Ecosystem Centre and the Faculty of Informatics will then continue the brainstorming fever with another event named hackAIthon on May 14, where novel solutions and business ideas based on artificial intelligence to make our everyday lives easier will be awarded with cash prizes. Young contestants are expected to submit innovative ideas for areas such as improving the quality of life, personalizing learning processes or business processes supported by artificial intelligence, while during the day, the staff of the Faculty of Informatics and the Innovation Ecosystem Centre will provide them with advice on the idea generation phase.

Both of these hackathons are in alignment with the cross-academic-year Hungarian Startup University Program (HSUP), coordinated by the Innovation Ecosystem Centre at the University of Debrecen. The May 2025 competitions will be open not only to current HSUP students, but also to future ones.
