The eight Chinese representatives were received by Elek Bartha, vice rector for educational affairs, and representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Informatics. Qin Rupei, vice governor of the Guangxi region said that he saw various opportunities for improving the cooperation between UD and GUFE, with special regard to information technology and especially artificial intelligence. During the 2-day visit of the Chinese delegation, the representatives of the two universities signed an agreement in this regard..
The delegates also met 11 Chinese doctors at the Clinical Centre of UD, who have participated in a special postgraduate programme. Since 2012, every year 15-20 doctors have come from Guangxi to UD for 3 months. So far, about one hundred doctors have participated in the programme financed by the region. The vice governor and the representatives of the Guangxi region promoted cooperation in the field of health care.
Among the delegates influential businesspeople also visited Debrecen, who expressed hope that business relations between Hungary and China would become stronger.
Currently, 324 Chinese students study at the University of Debrecen, but this number is continuously growing, in part owing to the representation of UD in Nanjing.
