Ambassador’s Visit to the University

The Ambassador of Kosovo to Hungary met with Rector Zoltán Szilvássy to discuss bilateral educational and research cooperation and the possibilities of increasing the number of Kosovar students. Delfin Pllana had a meeting with students of the University of Debrecen as well.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo, who has been serving in Hungary for one year, visited the University of Debrecen for the first time. Rector Zoltán Szilvássy and Director of Coordination and Strategy Okszána Kiszil welcomed the diplomat in the Main Building.  

During the professional meeting, Zoltán Szilvássy presented the complex industrial partner network of the University of Debrecen and spoke about the latest research results, including innovations in the field of functional foods.


Presenting the educational system of the University of Pristina and the University of Business and Technology (UBT), Ambassador Delfin Pllana proposed direct institutional cooperation in PhD and Medicine programs, among others.


In addition to scientific collaboration and establishing partnerships between higher education institutions, the parties discussed the launch of student and researcher mobility programs as well.

Currently, there are 25 Kosovar students at the University of Debrecen. Most of them are pursuing their studies at the institution in the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum program.

In conclusion of his visit, the ambassador also met with students studying at the institution.
