Twenty light curtains, almost 1,500 metres of LED strings and 5,400 points of light adorn the iconic Main Building of the University of Debrecen, which took ten hours to install over the past few days. From the second weekend of Advent, the decorative lighting can be admired every day from dusk to midnight and between 6 and 8 am. The University also wants to make the park in front of the Main Building more viable, joining the other Christmas lights in the city.
The breathtaking spectacle is not just for the people of Debrecen, as it can be viewed from anywhere via a webcam mounted on the Faculty of Music building across the square. The camera image is continuously available on the university's website www.unideb.hu-n and on the weather forecasting website idokep.hu.
