Blended Intensive Program at DE-GTK

There will be approximately forty students and six lecturers from as many as five different universities participating in the first Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP) of the University of Debrecen in May. The course, which will focus on the development of leadership skills, is going to be organized and hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Debrecen.

The program called GloLiteToLead (Global Literacy for the Development of Leadership Skills) will be held at FEB UD between May 8 and 12, 2023. The two co-hosts of BIP will be Troy Wiwczaroski, Associate Professor of our faculty and Associate Professor Ildikó Németh, Deputy Dean for International Relations at the University of Economics in Bratislava.

In addition to visitors from Bratislava, FEB UD will also welcome and host students and lecturers from the University of Economics in Varna (Bulgaria), Zwickau University of Applied Sciences in West Saxony (Germany) and the University of Zielona Góra (Poland).

BIP will focus on outlining and developing a new approach to management by presenting a new economic and business mindset for participating students while facilitating their future corporate and institutional leadership activities.

The lectures and interactive program elements will, among other things, focus on the necessity of personal education and the need for future professionals to become good leaders based on self-examination and opinions formed by others. Special attention is going to be paid to social literacy, which includes building personal credibility and relational trust as well as the transformation of teamwork. Business literacy is also to be addressed, which highlights the importance of developing insight into business and finance, as well as market orientation. Last but not least, cultural literacy will be emphasized, too, enabling leadership transformations to be effective through cultural literacy.

The program is expected to involve contributions from representatives of several major companies in Hungary, who will share their own success stories about how they have become efficient leaders and managers.
