The visiting professor will participate in the work of the Research Group on Number Theory led by Professor Emeritus Kálmán Győry from October at the invitation of Lajos Hajdu, professor at the Institute of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Debrecen (DE TTK), and share his experience with students and doctoral candidates of the institute.
Florian Luca, Professor at the School of Maths, Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa, is spending three months as a visiting researcher at the Department of Algebra and Number Theory, DE TTK. In this context, he and members of the Number Theory Research Group will be conducting joint research on the diophantine properties of linear recursive sequences, which are central to the theory of exponential diophantine equations.
